According to the IOC provisional data, global production for the 2017-2018 crop year reached 3,315,000 MT. Consumption for the same period stands at about 2,958,000 MT which created a carryover of 350,000 MT heading into the new crop season. Production for 2018-2019 is estimated to be 3,064,000 MT.
We’ve had some rain as well as some beautiful sunny days for the past few days in Tunisia and are very optimistic about this new harvest and the next one. Even though 2018-2019 is a “break-year” for our trees, they are still in excellent shape, and we expect production to hit 120,000 MT. For the 2019-2020 season, we see signs that it’ll likely be a record harvest.
Once harvest is in full swing, we”ll let you know what yield we’re projecting.
