New FDA Testing for Extra Virgin Olive Oil Proposed

CHO America, as a member of the North American Olive Oil Association, welcomes this legislation. CHO runs a chemical and organoleptic analysis for every lot of extra virgin olive oil produced in its own IOC accredited laboratory. Every shipment produced by CHO is controlled and randomly analyzed by SGS “Third Party Inspection Agency”, by Tunisian customs and by U.S. customs FDA at arrival to the United States port of entry. Every lot produced undergoes a minimum of 2 and up to 5 different tests for authenticity and quality.
